Schuyler Ferris, known artistically as SkyzEye, is a portrait artist specializing in expressive realism—a style that blends precision with raw emotion. His work captures the complexity of human expression, balancing realism and abstraction to create deep, personal connections with his subjects.
Schuyler’s artistic journey began in childhood, taking art classes through elementary and middle school in Keller, Texas. However, his path initially led him to athletics, where he played college basketball at the University of Texas at Dallas. After a spinal injury ended his basketball career, he found himself searching for a new identity. That search led him back to art, where he developed an obsession with portraiture—capturing the textures, depth, and emotion of the human form.
Between basketball and art, Schuyler moved to New Braunfels, Texas, where he worked in pest control before eventually owning his own business, Hill Country Termite Inspection. This experience sharpened his attention to detail and professionalism—traits that now define his artistic process. His ability to analyze fine details, developed inadvertently through inspection work, allows him to craft highly refined, emotionally impactful portraits.
Now based in Abilene, Texas, Schuyler offers graphite, charcoal, acrylic, and oil portraits, with commissions starting at:
• $200 – Black & Gray (Graphite/Charcoal)
• $300 – Painted (Acrylic or Oil)
Schuyler approaches every commission as a collaboration, ensuring that both he and his clients are fully satisfied with the final artwork. In his view, a successful commission is one where both parties walk away happy—a philosophy rooted in his experience as a small business owner.
